Pope Francis: “Let’s think about what we can do for those affected by the earthquake”
The spiritual leader of Catholics and Vatican President Pope Francis said they should think about what they can do for the earthquake victims, who were affected by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes, with center in Kahramanmaraş, which affected 10 provinces. .
In his speech after the Angelus prayer held every Sunday in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, the Pope said: “We continue to be close to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria with prayers and concrete support.”
Explaining that he saw the images of the earthquake on a television program, Pope Francis said: “I saw the images of the disaster and the suffering of the people who suffered from the earthquake. Let us pray for them, let us not forget. Let’s pray and think about what we can do for them.”
Expressing that Ukraine should not be forgotten in his Sunday prayer, the Pope expressed his wish that paths of peace be opened in this country and that responsible people follow this path. (AA)
