The EU expressed its condolences to Turkey

Michel dedicated the beginning of the press conference at the closing of the EU Leaders Summit held in Brussels to the earthquakes that occurred in Turkey.

Expressing his condolences for those who lost their lives in the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, Michel said: “I would like to express our determination as the EU and member states to support those affected by the earthquake and the search and rescue efforts.”

Michel recalled that they sent a letter signed by the leaders of all EU countries to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the EU Summit, emphasizing that they are ready to mobilize all their resources to help the earthquake victims.

Michel also stated that they will soon organize a donor conference in Brussels to help the victims of the earthquake.

The leaders of the EU countries began their summit in Brussels with a minute’s silence for those who lost their lives in the earthquakes. In the letter they signed addressed to President Erdoğan, the leaders conveyed their condolences and gave a message of solidarity. (AA)
