From the United States to China
Members of the lower house of the US Congress, the House of Representatives, voted on the resolution titled “Condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s flagrant violation of US sovereignty by using a high-altitude balloon over American soil.”
The bill, which was not opposed by any of the deputies, was accepted with the “yes” of 419 deputies.
Within the scope of the resolution, efforts by the Chinese Communist Party to mislead the international community with false accusations about US sovereignty and the intelligence-gathering attempt were also condemned.
In the decision, which called for immediate action to prevent such measures, the Joe Biden administration was asked to brief Congress on issues such as what information the balloon in question might collect and details of talks with China over the ” spy balloon”.
CHINESE REJECTION
Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Tan Kıfey said that by choosing to take down the balloon by force, the United States violated international customs and set a bad precedent.
Noting that Washington offered to hold a phone call between the defense ministers of the two countries after the incident, Tan said: “Since the irresponsible and seriously misguided attitude of the US prevented the formation of a proper environment for dialogue and communication between the armies of the two countries, China refused to hold a phone call between the US defense ministers. It rejected the proposal”. saying.
Tan noted that China reserves the right to use necessary tools in situations similar to the balloon crisis.
The US Department of Defense also reported that after the balloon was launched on February 4, a phone call was offered between Minister Lloyd Austin and his Chinese counterpart, Vey Fıngh, but their interlocutors declined.
Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said: “We believe that communication channels need to be kept open to conduct responsible relations with the United States and China. Communication between militaries is especially important at such times.” their statements.(BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
