Greece continues to send humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquake

At the instruction of Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis and at the initiative of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the process of sending aid consisting of emergency supplies and medical supplies to Turkey to alleviate the injuries of the victims of the earthquake has continued today.

Materials such as tents, stretchers, sanitary items and blankets were loaded onto the Aegean Airlines plane at Eleftherios Venizelos airport in the capital Athens for shipment to Turkey.

In the statement issued by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, it was indicated that 80 tons of various humanitarian aid materials, including 1,500 beds and 500 tents for earthquake victims, will be delivered to Turkey in 5 flights by planes Aegean Airlines.

Two planes carrying the first tranche of aid, including tents for blankets, beds, shelter and mobile practice, had landed at Adana airport in the morning. The materials were accompanied by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection of Greece, Christos Stilyanidis, and the Secretary General of Civil Protection, Vasilios Papayeorgiu.

Greece had sent two separate search and rescue teams to Turkey, one on February 6 and the other yesterday. (AA)
