“As far as I know, the kind of stuff they brought in is stuff that comes out of 1974, loose papers,” Biden said. He immediately also made a reservation: “There may be something else, I don’t know.” The fact that the documents were left behind was, according to him, the fault of the employees who had to clean up his old workplaces. “They didn’t do their job well.”
Delaware
The documents were found in a Washington office Biden used before he became president and in his home in Wilmington, Delaware. According to his lawyers, this was material from both Biden’s time as vice president (2009-2017) and the years he served in the Senate on behalf of Delaware (1973-2009).
The Justice Department is investigating Biden’s handling of confidential documents. Biden said his lawyers advised him not to say anything about the matter in the interview so as not to sway the investigation.
Penny, Trump
Confidential documents with former Vice President Mike Pence have also recently surfaced. Last year, the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s home to secure secret government documents.
