Zelensky: Ukrainian search and rescue team sent to Turkey

Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy addressed the nation in his daily video message released in the evening and assessed the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Zelenskiy said he received German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in kyiv today, noting that they discussed the issues of arms aid to Ukraine at the bilateral meeting.

Zelenskiy said that intensive talks with allied countries are continuing to strengthen the Ukrainian army and that preparations for a more effective fight against the attacks of the Russian army are continuing.

Recalling that today he phoned President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and conveyed his wishes for the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş, Zelenskiy used the following expressions:

“Ukrainian rescuers went to Turkey to support the rescue operation after the earthquakes. I hope it will be possible to save as many lives as possible.”

In the written statement made by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, it was announced that an experienced search and rescue team consisting of 87 people was heading to Turkey.

According to the video shared by the State Emergency Service, trained search dogs and team were sent to Turkey along with the team that left with planes and vehicles. (AA)
