In a written NATO statement, it was claimed that more than 1,400 emergency response personnel from more than 20 NATO allies and partners, including Sweden and Finland, were deployed to Turkey.
“More than 53,000 Turkish first responders are currently in the field.” In the statement, it was noted that different forms of assistance were provided, including search and rescue dog teams, fire and structural engineering teams, medical personnel and materials, and seismic experts.
In the statement, it was indicated that such support was provided through the NATO-Europe-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC), which is NATO’s main 24/7 civil emergency response mechanism.
In the statement, it was recalled that the flags of 30 allied countries in front of the NATO headquarters in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, were lowered at half mast in solidarity with Turkey and the Turkish people and for those who lost their lives in the earthquake. . (AA)
