European countries send rescue teams to Turkey

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly stated that a rescue team of 76 people will be sent to Turkey.

Cleverly, in a statement on his Twitter account, announced that they will send 76 search and rescue officers, rescue teams and search dogs to Turkey for emergency support.

Stating that aid will also be sent to Syria, Cleverly noted that the British-backed White Helmets organization will mobilize its resources, saying: “We are ready for more aid.” he used his statements.

SWISS

In the post shared on the Twitter account of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit, “Our thoughts are with the people affected by the strong earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria. Switzerland is sending the ‘Swiss Rescue Chain’ to the earthquake-affected regions of Turkey.” It was said.

In Swiss press reports, it was noted that around 80 search and rescue teams, under the coordination of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, are expected to leave for Turkey tonight.

Switzerland is also preparing to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquake in Syria.

ITALY

Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani also indicated in his Twitter post that at 2:15 p.m. local time, a reconnaissance team affiliated with the Civil Defense departed and will engage in search and rescue activities in a short time.

Malta also announced that it will support the victims of the earthquake in Turkey.

Byron Camilleri, Malta’s Minister for Home Affairs, Security, Reforms and Equality, shared on his Facebook account: “Malta will send a team of people who have received training on this issue in recent months.” saying.

AUSTRIA

Austrian Prime Minister Karl Nehammer, in a statement on his social media account, claimed that terrifying images came from Turkey and Syria, the earthquake caused great destruction and many lives were lost, saying: “We stand with the Turkish and Syrian in this difficult time.” he shared his opinion.

Nehammer affirmed that Austria will support the aid institutions with 3 million euros and that 80 soldiers will be sent tomorrow to the region where the earthquake occurred.

Turkey’s ambassador in Vienna, Ozan Ceyhun, also announced that a special search and rescue team of 25 people from Austria is heading to the earthquake area.

FRANCE

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, in a statement on Twitter, claimed that 139 civil defense and security search and rescue officers will fly to Turkey tonight, as part of the European Solidarity Mechanism, on the orders of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Darmanin stated that France stands in full solidarity with Turkey in these terrible conditions.

SPAIN

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles also announced that more than 90 rescue and medical teams will be sent to Turkey on two military planes.

Robles pointed out that tonight two military planes will leave for Turkey.

It has been reported that there will be more than 90 people from the Military Emergency Unit, the Community of Madrid Emergency Team, firefighters and first aid medical teams, and dogs will be sent to support the search and rescue efforts.

In Spain, some civil aid teams, such as the organization “Bomberos sin Fronteras”, announced that they would go to Turkey in search of help with groups of 10-15 people.

FINLAND

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin shared on her Twitter account: “I offer my condolences to those who lost their lives due to the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Urgent help is needed now.” she used her statements.

HOLLAND

Dutch King Willem Alexander and Queen Máxima said they deeply shared the plight of all those affected by the earthquakes.

The King and Queen shared the following message on their social media account:

“Turkey and Syria have been severely affected by a devastating natural disaster. We deeply share the plight of all those affected. We think of the victims and their families, as well as the rescuers who do everything possible for the safety of people. They deserve all the support.”

The Dutch Red Cross, on the other hand, launched the campaign “Help the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria” on its official website.

ESTONIA

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu stated that they are ready to help Turkey after the earthquakes.

Reinsalu shared on his Twitter account that he met with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Expressing his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the earthquake, Reinsalu said, “I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Estonia stands in solidarity with Turkey. We are ready to help Turkey.” he used his statements. (AA)
