Earthquake statement from the World Health Organization

Hans Kluge, Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Europe, expressed his condolences to Turkey, a member of WHO Europe, and to those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Syria.

Kluge said: “WHO Europe is also committed to supporting the Ministry of Health and Minister Fahrettin Koca in responding to this tragedy.”

On the other hand, the British news agency Reuters shared some statements from the WHO with its subscribers. “National authorities will now focus on search and rescue efforts,” the statement said. Going forward, we hope that the injured will need more trauma support and we aim to support the health system in all affected regions. In the statement, it was also noted that there is concern for regions where new information is not received.
