Former Iranian President Khatami’s warning to the current administration
According to the “Emtedad” news site, which is characterized by its closeness to the reformists, Khatami issued a statement on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Iranian revolution.
Khatami said: “The people are more advanced than when the revolution and the reformist government were underway. The will of the people must be obeyed.” he used his statements.
Noting that the Iranian administration is not willing to take any reform measures, Khatami said that in this case, it would be unnecessary to make reform proposals.
Khatami said:
“What there is today is dissatisfaction in the whole society. The government’s fault is to disapprove of the general public in order to please a small community that it considers loyal to itself, thus causing the loss of hope for a better future.”
Stating that the word “Republic”, which expresses the participation of the people in the administration, was all but removed from the phrase “Islamic Republic”, the country’s form of government, Khatami asserted that the regime put obstacles in the way of reformist politicians and that the movement in question had reached a dead end.
Former President Khatami, leader of the reformers, said the cheapest and most beneficial way out of the country’s political crisis is to “correct the system in terms of structure, approach and behavior.” (AA)
