The ‘world’s most wanted billionaire’ appeared at Nusret’s restaurant in Dubai
The appearance of Isabel dos Santos, an Angolan businesswoman, described as “the world’s most sought-after billionaire”, at the restaurant of the Turkish restaurateur Nusret Gökçe, in Dubai, became a topic on the agenda.
Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of former president José Eduardo dos Santos of Angola, an African country rich in natural resources, is accused of corruption and money laundering in her country. Interpol issued a red alert on Dos Santos, known as ‘the richest woman in Africa’ with a fortune of 2.2 billion dollars.
The image of Dos Santos, 49, who was wanted everywhere by Interpol, in the luxurious Nusret restaurant in Dubai, known abroad as “Salt Bae”, generated controversy. The moments in which Dos Santos ate meat with a knife in the restaurant were also reflected on social networks.
Interpol had warned international security agencies not to report Dos Santos’s location. However, Dos Santos continues to post on his Instagram account and shared from the 2022 World Cup.
Born in Baku, Dos Santos is on trial in his country for embezzlement of state oil revenues while running the state oil company Sonangol in Angola. The Angolan judiciary has been making great efforts for a long time to bring Isabel dos Santos, who is estimated to have been living in London and Dubai since 2017, to be brought to the country and tried.
