France and Italy will send a long-range air defense system to Ukraine

In a written statement made by the French Defense Ministry, it was reported that French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu and Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto had a telephone conversation.

In the statement, it was stated that during the meeting, the two discussed their military support for Ukraine and completed negotiations to send the SAMP/T – MAMBA air defense system to Ukraine in spring 2023.

In the statement it was stated that SAMP/T – MAMBA is the first European long air defense system, and that this air defense system will cover a significant part of Ukraine’s territory and provide defense against Ukraine’s Russian UAVs, missiles and aircraft.

In the statement, it was noted that the Defense Ministers of France and Italy renewed their determination to help Ukraine defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against Russia. (AA)
