In the statement issued by the police units, it was reported that a group of armed attackers, whose identities have not yet been determined, raided a farm in the Tantseka region of the Eastern Cape province last night, killing 3 people, including a 62- 46 year old woman, her 46 year old daughter and her 13 year old granddaughter.

In the second incident, which occurred in the Qunu region, 30 kilometers away, approximately 4 hours after the first incident, the attackers broke into a house and killed 7 people, 4 men and 3 women, between the ages of 32 and 46. It was shared that a full-scale investigation has been launched but a concrete connection between the two attacks has yet to be established.

In his statement on the subject, the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane, pointed out that these attacks, which he described as “brutal and senseless”, instilled fear and anxiety in society.
