Austria expels four Russian diplomats
There was an event that increased the tension between Austria and Russia… The Austrian Foreign Ministry announced that the four Russian diplomats did not act in accordance with their job descriptions and announced that it was decided to deport these people.
In the statement, it was also noted that Russian diplomats were given a certain period of time to leave the country.
“The Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria has announced its decision to revoke the diplomatic status of 4 Russian diplomats in Vienna. Two diplomats from the Russian Embassy carried out actions incompatible with their diplomatic status. Therefore, they were declared persona non grata pursuant to Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Two diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations took steps inconsistent with the Headquarters Agreement. They will also have to leave the territory of the Republic of Austria. The four Russian diplomats involved must leave Austrian territory within a maximum period of one week.
