Netanyahu gives green light for military aid to Ukraine
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they were considering military aid to Ukraine and were “taking action against Iran’s weapons production.”
In an interview with US CNN, Netanyahu said, “I am definitely considering it,” when asked to supply the Israeli-made Iron Dome air defense system to Ukraine. Noting that the United States transferred part of its ammunition stock in Israel to Ukraine, Netanyahu said: “The United States transferred part of its ammunition to Ukraine from here. I won’t go into details here; “Israel is taking action against Iran’s weapons production, which is also used in Ukraine,” he said.
Netanyahu, who neither confirmed nor denied the allegations that Israel was behind the attack on the Defense Ministry’s munitions production facility in Isfahan, Iran, over the weekend, said: “I’m not talking about a specific operation. Every time there is an explosion in the Middle East, Israel is blamed or singled out. “Sometimes we do, sometimes we don’t.”
Noting that he was offered mediation at the start of the Ukraine war but did not accept this role because he was in the opposition at the time, Netanyahu said then-Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tried but failed.
When asked who the request for mediation came from, Netanyahu stated that the offer was delivered to him through “unofficial channels” and that he could undertake this task if all parties, especially the United States, wanted to. (AA)
