Ukraine calls on Europe to increase support

Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, attended the session on “Increasing Support for Ukraine” in the Foreign Relations Committee of the European Parliament and delivered a speech via video conference.

“Waiting is a mistake, you have to react and be one step ahead.” Yermak said that EU countries should apply more sanctions to Russia.

Yermak claimed that after Russia’s war with Ukraine and sanctions, the gross national product fell by 3.5 percent, which was insufficient, and demanded that the Russian economy be weakened by further sanctions.

“We will be grateful if the European Parliament prepares a detailed sanctions package,” Yermak said. saying.

Noting that all kinds of weapons and ammunition need to be delivered to Ukraine urgently, Yermak called on European defense industry companies to cooperate with Ukrainian companies.

Yermak stated that the strongest security guarantees can be given to Ukraine with NATO membership: “The support you give Ukraine at this time means an investment in your current security. Granting Ukraine NATO membership means an investment in its future security.” he said. (AA)
