Washington does not supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets
10:40 pm | Washington will not supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, although Kiev is now permanently asking for such planes to fight the Russian aggressor. US President Joe Biden said no to reporters’ questions about whether the US will send F-16s.
French President Emmanuel Macron, in turn, has not ruled out the delivery of fighter jets a few hours earlier. He warned of the danger of escalation. For example, such aircraft should only be used to defend Ukrainian territory, not attack Russian territory, he said after a conversation with Prime Minister Mark Rutte. According to Rutte, there are no taboos, but he stressed that sending fighter jets would be a big step.
Recently, several Western allies of Ukraine have decided to equip the Ukrainian army with modern heavy tanks.
