Egyptian President Sisi met with Prime Minister Pashinyan in Armenia
Sisi, the first Egyptian president to visit Armenia, met with Prime Minister Pashinyan in the capital Yerevan.
According to news from Armenia’s official news agency Armenpress, Pashinyan stated that he hopes for further development of economic relations between the two countries, saying that “the warmth in relations reflects Armenia’s respect for the Islamic world and culture. “.
Sisi also pointed out that there are opportunities for mutual investment, cooperation in the fields of high-tech, tourism, communication and energy between the two countries.
In the statement of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, it was emphasized that Pashinyan stated that they supported the process in the negotiations of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Egypt.
On the other hand, in the Armenpress news about the meeting between Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Sisi, it was stated that the Egyptian president said that they are neutral in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and that he is ready to mediate.
During Sisi’s contacts with Armenia, memoranda were signed between the parties in the fields of science and technology, education, culture, sports, economy and investment.
