Pence with classified documents at home: I take full responsibility
Speaking at an event at Florida State University, Pence said of the discovery of “secret” state documents from his vice presidential term at his home: “These confidential documents should not be in my personal residence. A mistake has been made and I assume full responsibility.” he said.
Emphasizing that proper preservation of sensitive documents is very important to national security, Pence said they were preemptively reviewing their own personal records after sensitive documents were discovered in President Joe Biden’s office and personal residence.
Pence said that after the documents were found, they immediately notified the relevant units at the National Archives, the FBI and the Department of Justice.
Stating that his advisers carried out the process in cooperation with these institutions, Pence claimed that he was unaware of the existence of the documents. (AA)
