Clash of resignation in Sweden
Peter Magnus Nilsson, in a statement on his social media account, announced that he has left his advisory position at the Prime Ministry.
Thanking Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Nilsson said: “We had a great team that I enjoyed working with. I learned a lot in a short time.” he used the phrases.
Known as “PM Nilsson” in the country, Nilsson was appointed as an adviser to Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on October 20, 2022.
Nilsson was caught up in an operation organized by the Swedish Marine and Water Management Agency against illegal eel fishing and the incident was reported in the press on 18 January.
The main opposition Social Democratic Party demanded Nilsson’s resignation.
Fishing for the endangered eel in Sweden has been prohibited since 2007, except by licensed anglers.
