In the statement, it was emphasized that the decision was the result of intensive consultations with Germany’s closest European and international partners.
It was stated that the purpose of the decision was to quickly assemble two tank battalions with Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine, and it was stated that, in the first step, Germany would provide a squadron of 14 Leopard 2 A6 tanks from the inventory of the armed forces. .
In the statement, it was stated that other European partners will also deliver Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine, noting that the training of Ukrainian soldiers on Leopard tanks will begin quickly in Germany.
It was stated that the support package for Ukraine will include logistics, ammunition and systems maintenance, as well as training.
It is claimed that Germany will give its approval for the shipment of Leopard-2 tanks to countries that want to deliver their Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine quickly from their inventory. (AA)
