Indiscipline crisis in kyiv: Multiple government officials resign

Although the Russia-Ukraine war has been going on for 11 months, the firing or resignation of many top Ukrainian officials in kyiv came as a shock.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in his address to the nation last night, made a strident statement, accusing some officials in cities behind the front line of ignoring the war. “I signed several decrees today. Those who want to rest, rest outside of public service. Officials will no longer be able to travel abroad for vacations or any other non-governmental purpose,” Zelenskiy said, announcing that there will be changes at various levels of government, including ministries.

Following this statement, some critical figures in Ukraine resigned today. It was reported that the resignations of Deputy Head of the Presidential Office in Ukraine Kiril Tymoshenko, Deputy Defense Minister Vyacheslav Shapovalov and Deputy Prosecutor General Alexei Simonenko have been accepted.

It was noted that Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Ivan Lukerya and Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Regions Vyacheslav Negoda also submitted their resignations on their social media accounts.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kiril Tymoshenko announced his resignation on social media.

CORRUPTION CLAIMS AND LUXURY HOLIDAYS

Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said in a statement to the Cabinet on the resignation of his deputy Shapovalov: “Despite the fact that the accusations are groundless and groundless, the submission of Vyacheslav Shapovalov’s resignation is a valuable act in the traditions of European and democratic politics, and that defense of interests should not be removed from any cabinet or seat, is an indication that it is higher,” he said.

Shapovalov was accused of corruption related to the contracting of food services. It turned out that Deputy Prosecutor General Alexey Simonenko also spent his vacation in Spain at the end of 2022.

Ukraine’s presidential adviser Mikhail Podolyak stated that Zelenskiy’s personnel decisions reflect the basic priorities of the state, saying: “We do not close our eyes.” (SOZCU.COM.TR/DHA/AA)
