‘Poland pushed the button for the tank to Ukraine’
It has been claimed that Poland has started working for the delivery of Leopard tanks, which are German-produced and the Berlin administration has not yet allowed them to be transferred to Ukraine, to kyiv.
According to sources in “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, one of the most widely read newspapers in Poland, the training of Ukrainian soldiers on Leopard tanks will also take place in Poland. In the news, which said that such military training can be carried out in the ground troops in the city of Poznan, Poland, the expression “Poland has already started work for the delivery of Leopard tanks to kyiv.”
German-produced Leopard tanks are available in EU and NATO countries such as Denmark, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Hungary.
There are approximately 2,670 Leopard 2 tanks in service with various armies around the world. Weighing approximately 64 tons, Leopard tanks can reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour and can hit targets up to 5,000 meters away with their 120-millimeter smoothbore gun.
European allies such as Poland and Finland have stated that they are ready to send these tanks to Ukraine and are waiting for Berlin’s approval, but since Leopard tanks are made in Germany, German approval is required for use in other countries such as Ukraine. (AA)
