The first reaction of the Swedish prime minister to the scandal of the burning of the Holy Quran

Swedish Prime Minister Kristersson said: “Freedom of expression is a fundamental part of democracy. However, not everything that is legal is appropriate. Burning books that are sacred to many is extremely disrespectful. I convey my sympathy to all Muslims who are concerned about what is happening in Stockholm.”

RESPONSE TO SCANDAL ATTACK

Following Paluda’s action, the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm said in a statement: “Despite all warnings from our country, we condemn in the strongest terms the vile attack on our holy book, the Holy Quran, in Sweden today ( January 21st). We in no way accept that this provocative anti-Islamic action that targets Muslims and insults our sacred values is allowed under the name of freedom of expression. Because this is a hate crime. This despicable act is also another indicator of the alarming level to which Islamophobic, racist and discriminatory tendencies have reached in Europe. We call on the Swedish authorities to take the necessary measures against the perpetrators of this hate crime and to take concrete measures in solidarity with all countries and international organizations against Islamophobia.
