Zelensky’s Food Crisis Warning
Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy stated that the war destroyed Ukraine’s potential, saying: “Before this war, which destroyed all our potential, including our agricultural potential, we exported 6.5 million tons of food every month. Shipments halved due to Russian aggression and actions to block our food exports. If we count all this not by tons, but by human life; There will be at least 200 million people in different countries on three continents, Africa, Asia and Europe, who currently have reduced access to food.”
STRENGTH AND COLLABORATION
Stating that more determination and cooperation are needed to tackle the food crisis, Zelenskiy said: “The world needs more determination and cooperation to stop the aggression that is destroying the food market. Every state that closes off the sea and destroys food supply chains must be stopped. “Any tyrant who tries to turn famine into a tool of political influence must be brought to justice.”
THANKS TO ERDOGAN
Zelenskiy also expressed that the grain agreement is a diplomatic solution to the food crisis and thanked the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Zelenskiy said: “Although Russia blocked our ports on the Black Sea, we found a diplomatic way to restart exports. I would like to express my gratitude to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Guterres, and the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Erdogan, for their timely and effective participation in the realization of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.”
