Ukrainian statement from Germany: What will be the decision cannot be said today
German Defense Minister Pistorius told reporters on the sidelines of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group Meeting held at the US Ramstein base in Germany that the possible supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine was discussed here.

“There are good reasons to offer and good reasons against. Considering the general situation of the war that lasted for almost a year, all the pros and cons must be weighed very carefully. This assessment is shared by many allies, it became clear in these conversations. Of course there are others. Today, none of us can say when and how the decision on the Leopard tanks will be made.
Pistorius stated that when a decision is made, it is necessary to act quickly, “It is not necessary to do anything when a negative decision is made. When it’s positive, you have to act fast.” he used the phrases.
That is why Boris Pistoruis shared the information that today he ordered the German Defense Ministry to conduct an investigation into the Leopard tanks.
Reminding that other countries want to give their Leopard tanks to Ukraine, Pistorius said: “The issue of granting export permits was consulted, but no decision was made.” saying.
LEOPARD TANKS
German produced Leopard tanks are available in EU and NATO countries such as Denmark, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Hungary.
There are approximately 2,670 Leopard 2 tanks in service with various armies around the world. Weighing approximately 64 tons, Leopard tanks can reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour and have the power to hit targets up to 5,000 meters with their 120-millimeter smoothbore gun.
European allies such as Poland and Finland had declared that they were ready to send these tanks to the Ukraine and awaited approval from Berlin. However, since Leopard tanks are made in Germany, German approval is required for use in other countries such as Ukraine. (AA)
