We fully trust the Maltese justice regarding this fact, the judicial process of which is still ongoing. According to information obtained by the AA correspondent from diplomatic sources, Tugba Alan Özdenfedakar, Temporary Chargé d’Affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Valletta, received Kaya’s family at the embassy and expressed his condolences. During the meeting, the funeral transport process and the stages of the judicial process in relation to the incident were discussed.

Meanwhile, it was claimed that the Embassy took initiatives with the Maltese authorities for the transfer of Pelin Kaya’s body to Turkey, and that with the help of the Turkish Airlines Malta Directorate, the body continues to be sent to Kaya’s hometown lo soon as possible. .

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the incident that took place on Testeferrata Street in Gzira, Malta at around 01:00 on Wednesday 18th January, the black vehicle driven by Jeremie Camilleri first damaged the petrol station and then crashed into the fast food restaurant nearby. and was celebrating his birthday with his friends in the restaurant. He hit Pelin Kaya, 30 years old.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the vehicle also threw stones at Kaya and prevented those who wanted to help him.

Maltese police arrested Camilleri, the driver of the vehicle, who displayed aggressive behavior with the help of a stun gun.

Camilleri was sent to prison to remain in preventive detention without deliberate homicide, in the court to which he was taken yesterday. (AA)
