Joint military flight exercise between Belarus and Russia
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced that the joint flight tactical exercise of the regional joint power aviation units of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia began today.
In the statement, he noted that a formation of the Air and Space Forces participated in the Russian exercise, saying “The main objective of the exercise is to ensure operational compatibility in the joint performance of the combat training mission.”
Air reconnaissance exercises, joint patrols in the airspace along the border, air support for troops, tactical transfer of airborne troops, casualty evacuation and cargo delivery were carried out.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko formed a joint regional power made up of the two countries’ military units in October, due to rising tensions on the borders of the Russian-Belarusian Union State.
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced on January 6 that the Russian-Belarusian joint regional power is ready for the defense mission and announced that it will continue work on further development of joint regional military units at the level of different units.
The exercise will continue until February 1. (AA)
