Saudi Arabia will not implement epidemic restrictions this year

Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tevfik er-Rabia spoke at the opening of the “Hajj Expo 2023” fair held in Jeddah with the title “Quality and competitiveness in Rahman guest service: vision of the future” .

Noting that there will be no age restrictions on pilgrims this year and that the number will be the same as before the epidemic, Rabia described the decision as “good news.”

Saudi Arabia imposed restrictions on the age and number of pilgrims after 2020, when the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) broke out.

For this reason, the number of pilgrims reaches 2.5 million in 2019; It was limited to 10,000 in 2020, 60,000 in 2021 and 899,353 in 2022, of which 779,919 were from outside Saudi Arabia.

The Expo Hajj 2023 fair and conference, organized under the auspices of Prince Khalid al-Faisal, Advisor to Haremeyn-i-Sharifeyn and Emir of Mecca, will continue until January 12.
