Iran’s Human Rights Activists Agency (HRANA) provided information about the trial of 18-year-old Mehdi Muhammediferd, who was detained at protests in the city of Nushehr in Mazenderan province. According to the HRANA statement, the court decided to execute Muhammediferd twice.

Among the charges brought against Muhammediferd, who was arrested in Nushehr on September 30, is “being one of the leaders of the demonstrations held in Nushehr on September 21, when 5 security guards lost their lives.” It is alleged that Muhammediferd was denied the right to choose a lawyer.

A relative who spoke to HRANA denied all the allegations, saying that the alleged Mohammediferd’s face could not be seen clearly in the footage of the events and that his statement during the interrogation was taken under duress.

Under Iranian law, a person; He is accused of being a “combatant” whether or not he uses firearms to intimidate people’s life, property and honor.

The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who fell ill and was taken to hospital after being detained by Irshad patrols, known as the “morality police”, on September 13 in Tehran, died on September 16, which sparked anti-government protests that spread across the country. Iran’s Security Council, in a December 3 statement, reported that the total number of deaths in the demonstrations exceeded 200.

The Norway-based Iranian Organization for Human Rights (IHR) claimed in its report released on December 27 that 476 protesters were killed as a result of security forces intervention in street demonstrations that began after Emini’s death. .
