Action against lignite mines in Germany! tough police action

According to reports from the German News Agency (DPA), activists gathered in the town of Lützerath, arguing that brown coal mining harms nature.

The protesters blocked 3 roads, placing barricades to prevent the passage of vehicles from the energy company.

A brawl broke out between the demonstrators and the police, who ignored warnings to open the road.

CROSS OUT

The activists, who threw fireworks, bottles and stones at the police, set fire to some barricades. After the fight, the police withdrew.

THE ACTIONS WILL CONTINUE

The protesters, who reacted to the energy company that mines lignite coal in the town of Lützerath and wanted to prevent construction equipment from entering the region, stated that they would continue their protests.

The Essen-based energy company RWE, on the other hand, citing the global energy crisis, stated that it is necessary to use the mining sites in Lützerath to safely supply power plants.
