Zelenskiy: Nights can be quite hectic in the coming weeks
Zelenskiy spoke to the public with his video post on his Telegram account in the evening and claimed that Russian forces continue to attack Ukraine with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
“80 UAVs DESTROYED”
Noting that more than 80 UAVs launched by Russian forces have been destroyed in the air in the past two days, Zelenskiy said:
“Only two days have passed since New Year’s Eve, and the number of Iranian UAVs (Iran-made UAVs) shot down in Ukraine has already exceeded 80. This number may increase in the near future. Therefore, the nights can be quite hectic in the coming weeks. We have information that Russia is planning a long-term Shahid (Shahid UAV) attack.”
NOTICE TO SOLDIERS
Calling on Ukraine’s air defense forces to be even more careful, Zelenskiy said: “Now is the time when everyone involved in airspace protection should be very careful.” he said.
MEETING WITH THE EU
Zelenskiy said he had a phone call with Ursula Von der Leyen, the president of the European Union (EU) Commission, and they discussed the details at the EU-Ukraine Joint Summit, which is scheduled for February.
Stating that they also discussed the financial support that the EU will provide to Ukraine in their speech with Leyen, Zelenskiy said: “In accordance with the decision made last year, we expect the first part of the macro-financial support in January. This is extremely important at a time when Russia is trying to muster fresh forces for aggression.” he said he. (AA)
