China’s message to strengthen ties with Russia against the US

In an online speech at the symposium hosted by the China Institute of International Relations in Beijing, Foreign Minister Wang said: “One country (the US) seeks to revive the logic of the cold war with a false narrative of ‘authoritarianism versus democracy’. China and Russia, in solidarity with other countries, oppose hegemony and reject the new cold war.” he used his statements.

Emphasizing that China’s relations with Russia are “rock-solid” and will not be affected by foreign interventions and changes in the international environment, Wang said Beijing will “deepen mutual trust” with Moscow and “strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia”. coordination”.

Implicitly criticizing the US stance, Vang said China has always taken an objective and impartial stance on the Ukraine crisis, does not favor one side over the other, does not feed the fire and does not seek selfish gain.

Since the beginning of the Ukraine crisis, China refrained from using the words “occupation”, “attack” and expressions that would mean “condemnation” against Russia, and refrained from the condemnation decision of the UN General Assembly.

The trade volume between Moscow and Beijing was observed to increase after the West imposed economic sanctions on Russia due to the war.

“US POLICY OF FRAMING CHINA, SEEKING HEGEMONY”

In his speech, Wang also argued that Washington pursued a policy of containment and suppression of China.

Describing President Joe Biden’s strategy to strengthen global and regional alliances against China’s growing influence in the region and in the world as “the pursuit of hegemony” and “power politics,” Vang said, “United The United States persistently defines China as its main rival and continues to encircle, suppress and provoke, has created serious difficulties in Sino-US relations,” he made his assessment.

Vang described former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan in early August as “an act of intimidation by the hegemonic power” and said that China “responded forcefully to anti-Chinese opponents in United States” with the military exercises organized around the island after the visit.

“Focusing on competition does more harm than good, cooperation is more imperative than choice,” said Wang, urging Washington to abandon the notion of block-to-block confrontation and the zero-sum game. he said.

Pelosi’s visit sparked a reaction from China, which sees the island as part of its territory. After the visit, the Chinese military began military exercises around Taiwan, and the exercises, which lasted for 7 days, created a de facto blockade around the island. During the live weapons and ammunition exercises, guided missiles fired from mainland China landed in waters near Taiwan. (AA)
