Statement by Libyan Prime Minister Dibeybe

In an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hades TV channel, Libyan Prime Minister Dibeybe made assessments of the maritime authorization agreement reached between Turkey and Libya and the decision that Egypt announced that it had determined the maritime border with Libya. unilaterally.

Dibeybe said: “The agreement with Turkey guarantees Libya’s maritime and economic rights in the Mediterranean.” he said she.

Noting that his country got its economic right with the deal with Turkey, Dibeybe said, “Libya got its economic right with this deal. This is the right of the Libyans, no other person or state can seize it. We expect general coordination and we want all countries to agree.” he used his statements.

“WE COMPLETELY REJECT THE NAME OF EGYPT”

Dibeybe stated that they rejected the decision that Egypt stated that it determined the maritime borders with Libya, saying: “It is not possible that the maritime borders and continental shelf agreements are unilateral. We completely reject this passage from Egypt.” he performed the assessment of it.

Calling for an agreement to be reached by establishing a commission on determining the maritime borders between Egypt and Libya, Dibeybe said: “We demand our Egyptian brothers to form a bilateral commission and reach an agreement. If there is no agreement, there is the United Nations, there is the court, there is the law. No one can make decisions alone. If they see the Libyan side as weak, we reject it. If they are friends and neighbors, we would be happy with the bilateral agreement”. he used his statements.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah es-Sisi’s decision regarding the determination of his country’s western maritime borders was published in Egyptian media news on December 13.

In the statement made by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 17, Egypt’s decision to determine the maritime borders of the two countries was described as “unilateral” and it was stated that Libya completely rejected this decision. (AA)
