Nedim, the Taliban-appointed Deputy Minister of Higher Education, argued on a program on Afghan State Television that the rules introduced by the Taliban administration in the field of higher education were not properly implemented.

Stating that girls’ education in some departments such as agriculture and engineering is “contrary to Islamic rules and Afghan honour”, Nedim said: “Our aim is not to deprive girls of education. Efforts continue to solve problems in universities.

Nedim, who said that “they should not interfere in our internal affairs” because of international reactions to the practice, stated that a new decision is not on the agenda for madrasas where girls and boys receive education, and that madrasas will continue with Your activities. in its current form.

The Taliban administration had announced the previous day that the education of female students in universities was suspended until a second announcement. (AA)
