Qatar bribery crisis grows in Europe: Blaming his wife for piles of money
Speaking to the MEGA TV broadcast in Greece, lawyer Mihalis Dimitrakopoulos made an assessment of the bundles of cash seized by the police and reflected in the Belgian press.
Emphasizing that he cannot share details due to the confidentiality of the file, Dimitrakopoulos argued that it is unclear who exactly the money in the photos belongs to.
It is also revealed that Kaili and her husband have opened a real estate company.
Dimitrakopulos pointed out that the large amount of wads of money that the Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office seized at different points in the framework of the corruption and bribery investigation were found as a result of a search carried out at 9 different points, noting that part of the money in the photo was found in Kaili’s house.
Kaili claimed that her husband brought the money.
Dimitrakopoulos said: “The coins found in Kaili’s house have nothing to do with Kaili. She also had a wife at home. His wife is the only person who can give answers as to who the money belongs to,” he said.
Stating that the information that Kaili’s father, Alexandros Kaili, had money in a suitcase was true, Dimitrakopoulos claimed that this money had been given to him by Kaili’s wife, Francesco Giorgi, who was arrested in connection with the same. research.
“Qatar had no reason to bribe Kaili,” Dimitrakopoulos said.
Arguing that Kaili’s visit to Qatar was under the knowledge and direction of the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, Dimitrakopoulos claimed that Kaili did not have a special service for Qatar’s interests.
