People had to enter their phone number to get a signature green arrow, which was necessary for traveling between provinces and for accessing events and some public places. The so-called Roadmap has been changed several times since its introduction in 2020.
Road map
Several corona apps are circulating in China, of which the National Government Roadmap has been the most important. Many Chinese still use the apps of their city or province to enter, for example, shops and offices.
The roadmap’s abolition comes nearly a week after Beijing eased national coronavirus measures. In the previous days, several cities had already announced relaxations after rare protests against the strict anti-virus policy. The number of infections peaked in late November, before nationwide easing took effect. Chinese experts predict that the number of infections will rise again due to the easing.
