Name Known As ‘Witch’ In Latvia Entered Parliament, Debate Started

The appointment of Sanita Petere, known as the “modern witch” in the Eastern European country of Latvia, as a deputy for a deputy created controversy.

According to Russian RT television news, Latvian MP Nataļja Marcenko-Jodko appointed Sanita Petere, who earned a reputation as a “White Witch” in the country and claimed to be healing with her special powers, as her assistant. The new task of the woman, known as a magician and healer, was also announced on the website of the Latvian Parliament.

The news caused astonishment in the country and generated objections from some segments.

‘WE ARE ALREADY VERY EFFECTIVE IN POLITICS’

Making a statement to the press about his new position, Petere uttered interesting words and argued that witches and wizards are already very influential in Latvian politics. Saying that parliament is a perfect place to do his job, Petere said: “Can’t there be a witch in parliament? “I think we have great benefits in politics,” she said.

Petere, who was previously nominated for parliament but was not elected, uses lithotherapy, known as an “alternative medicine” method, to draw bad energy out of the body with stones and crystals.

Latvia was one of the countries where witch hunts were common in Europe in the Middle Ages, where thousands of women were killed. Many women, who were thought to have infiltrated demons or evil spirits, were burned alive in European countries.

The country where the witch hunt was most common was Germany.
