Turkish doctor breaks immigration record to Germany
A new record was broken in the number of doctors visiting Germany from Turkey. According to 2022 data, the number of doctors who went to Germany and completed their training was 2,417. Although 1,227 of them were announced to be specialist doctors, Germany achieved significant savings instead of spending money training doctors from scratch.
While in Germany around 400,000 euros are spent to train a doctor, this figure exceeds 500,000 euros for specialists.
With immigration registered in the last year, Germany’s savings in medical training has exceeded 4,000 million euros. The influx of experts leaving Turkey reassures Germany. Until December this year, the number of Turkish medical specialists who received “clearance certificates” to go to Germany from Turkey broke a record and reached 1,227. The number of general practitioners who received certificates reached 1,190. This number is a record in the immigration of doctors from Turkey. Those going to Switzerland and other countries are not included in these numbers.
GREAT INCREASE OVER THE YEARS
The increase in the number of the Turkish Medical Association in the last 10 years is visibly increasing. According to the years, the number of doctors who go to Germany is as follows:
2012-59
2013- 90
2014-118
2015- 150
2016-245
2017- 482
2018-802
2019-1047
2020-931
2021- 1405
2022 (until November) – 2417
IF THERE IS NO TURKISH DOCTOR, THE HOSPITAL IS CLOSED
There is a shortage of approximately 15,000 doctors in Germany. The number of doctors from Turkey has reached 10 thousand.
Germany still has a shortage of doctors, especially specialists. Some clinics began to close due to a lack of specialists. A delivery room in the city of Usingen in the state of Hesse has decided to close because there is no specialist obstetrician.
It was claimed that without the doctors coming from Turkey, many more hospitals would be in danger of closing.
If the influx of Turkish doctors continues in this way, it is thought that Germany will largely close its deficit by 2025.
