Following the announcement that an event on the “anti-Turkey” film called Sisters Apart would be held, the embassy took a step back following the reactions. The fact that the film, which tells the story of a woman named Rojda, who was trained in the terrorist organization in Iraq, was shown caused a huge reaction.

Although the Azerbaijani media recalled that the film “Sisters Apart” was not screened in the country’s movie theaters, a statement on the subject came from Germany. Following the reactions to the screening of the film, which was released in 2020, the German Embassy in Azerbaijan issued a statement. In the statement made on Facebook, it was announced that the screening of the film was cancelled.
