A request from the “German brother-in-law” that surprised the Turks before the critical vote
The agenda in Germany is the referendum held for the dismissal of the metropolitan mayor of Frankfurt, Peter Feldmann.
For the vote, which is of vital importance to the region, the polls opened at 8:00 a.m. and voting will continue until 6:00 p.m. Almost half a million Frankfurters vote, if the turnout exceeds 30 percent and at least 153,000 votes in favor are sufficient, it will be enough to remove Feldmann from office. Otherwise, Feldmann will remain in office until 2024.
PETITION “DO NOT GO TO VILLAGE”
On the other hand, before the critical vote, it was revealed that Feldmann yesterday called a Turkish administrator who had a say in the mosque associations in and around Frankfurt and said: “You made a mistake in court, your lawyer said those words and He was very sorry, and he would try to get his daughter to forgive himself.”
Speaking to SÖZCÜ, the Turkish administrator said that Feldmann felt he wanted voters of Turkish origin not to go to the polls.
Feldmann (64), who was accused of luring his Turkish wife Zübeyde (36) for a high salary and receiving electoral help from the social welfare organization AWO, denied the allegations.
YOUR WORDS REACTED
Feldmann, who is still on trial, said: “I had to marry Zübeyde because I was pregnant. Such was her value judgment. She wanted our child to be aborted, but he refused.”
These comments in court further infuriated voters who accused him of “making a tool of his wife and son in court.”
