UN: 118 Palestinians Killed in West Bank This Year

OHCHR Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani, who delivered a speech at the weekly press conference of the United Nations (UN) Geneva Office, assessed the latest situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Shamdasani noted that there has been an alarming increase in conflict and violence against civilians in the region in recent weeks.

Noting that Israeli security forces continue to use lethal violence against Palestinians, Shamdasani said: “This year, 118 Palestinians, including 26 children and 5 women, were shot dead in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, by security forces. Israelis”. he used his statements.

Shamdasani stated that 3 Palestinians, including a child, were killed by illegal Jewish settlers this year.

Emphasizing that firearms should only be used when there is a threat to life safety, Shamdasani said: “Killing or injuring people who do not pose a threat through the use of firearms is a clear violation of the right to life”. he said. (AA)
