Suspect who attacked Pelosi’s wife is in custody

It was reported that Paul Pelosi was taken to hospital after the attack and underwent surgery due to deep and severe injuries to his skull and various parts of his body. San Francisco Police Chief William Scott explained how the attack happened at a news conference, emphasizing that the attack was deliberate. San Francisco Police described the event in the press release as follows;

“When police arrived on scene, they encountered a suspicious adult male and Pelosi’s husband, Paul. Police saw Pelosi and the suspect with one hand on the hammer. Minutes later, the suspect took control of the hammer and violently attacked Mr. Pelosi. The teams immediately neutralized the suspect and took the weapon in his hand.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill, made the following statement regarding yesterday’s attack;

“Early this morning, Paul Pelosi was attacked in his home by an assailant who used force to threaten his life by asking to see the Speaker of the House. Pelosi was admitted to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where he underwent successful surgery to treat a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands. His doctors are expecting a full recovery.”

US Vice President Kamala Harris said: “Doug and I are shocked by the attack on the husband of House Speaker Paul Pelosi. “The entire Pelosi family is in our hearts and we wish her a speedy recovery.”
