Verstappen storms in the heat of Qatar

Max Verstappen takes pole in Qatar

In the Qatar Grand Prix, the 18th race of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Dutch Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen, took pole position.

Verstappen, who completed the qualifying laps on the 5.419-kilometre route in the city of Lusail with a time of 1 minute and 23.778 seconds, earned the right to start the race from the front row.

George Russell (Mercedes) came second, 0.441 seconds behind Verstappen; His teammate Lewis Hamilton took third place by 0.527 seconds.

The sprint qualifying race for the Qatar Grand Prix will take place tomorrow at 20:30 GMT. The main race will begin on Sunday, October 8 at 20:00 CET and will consist of 57 laps.

This season, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who is fighting for the championship, stood out with 13 race victories, while his teammate Sergio Pérez won 2 times and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz won 1 time. The season’s Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix could not be held due to poor weather conditions. (AA)
