Scandal in Spain! 81 players left the team

The Royal Spanish Football Federation supported Luis Rubiales, 81 players left the national team!

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) supported President Luis Rubiales and announced that 81 players, including soccer player Jenni Hermoso, who stated that she did not give her consent, would not play for the team.

In statements yesterday at the Extraordinary General Assembly of the RFEF, the president of the Federation, Rubiales, affirmed that he will not resign and stressed that the improper action he carried out against the soccer player Hermoso was carried out by mutual agreement. In statements through his social media account, Hermoso stated that the conversation mentioned by Luis Rubiales never took place and he wanted to make it clear that his kiss was not by consent.

At the end of his written statement, Hermoso declared that he will not play with the national team while the current managers are in office.

81 FOOTBALL PLAYERS HAVE DECIDED TO BOYCOTT

The Association of Professional Soccer Players of Spain (Futpro), through a written statement, announced that 81 players will not play with the Spanish Soccer Team until the current directors of the federation are dismissed. Futpro, in its statement, stated that it wanted to indicate that if the current leaders continue with the names of 81 players, none of the players who signed this letter will play in the National Team.

RFEF: WE REVIEWED THE PHOTOS, I DID NOT LIE

The Spanish federation RFEF affirmed that yesterday they examined the photographs of the incident and that the president’s statements were correct and he did not lie. Backing up these facts with images, he first announced with this statement.

WHAT HAPPENED?

For the FIFA Women’s World Cup final, Spain and England met on August 20, 2023 with Spain winning the cup by defeating England.

During the festivities, the president of the Federation, Luis Rubiales, kissed the national team player Jenni Hermoso on the lips, a fact that was reflected in the world press as an inappropriate act.

Rubiales explained that the movement occurred by mutual agreement, but Hermoso affirmed that there was no consent. On the other hand, the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, affirmed that Rubiales’ apologies were not enough and FIFA announced that it had launched an investigation into the incident.
