‘Kiss’ and statement of ‘resignation’ from the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales
The president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, has refused to step down as president of the Spanish Football Federation following his actions following Sunday’s Women’s World Cup final.
Rubiales, 46, kissed forward Jenni Hermoso on the lips after Spain’s 1-0 win over England. Before her, she had reached her hand to Hermoso’s groin as she celebrated at the final whistle.
Rubiales apologized Monday before world soccer’s governing body FIFA launched disciplinary proceedings against him on Thursday. But at a news conference Friday, Rubiales accused people of false feminism, describing kissing her soccer player as “kissing his daughter.”

Here are Rubiales’ explanations:
“An event that took place in the shelter [kasık avuçlama] I want to apologize for I’ll explain it by looking at Jorge Vilda. We’ve been through a lot, they wanted to do the same thing to you as they did to me, they’re trying to create a fake conversation and turn it against you.”
“I was very touched when you came back after winning the World Cup and dedicated the trophy to me. I gestured there. I apologize to the Majesty of her the Queen, I have never acted like this ”.

“It was more of a snack than a kiss. There was no desire, the same desire that I felt when kissing my daughter, there was no control. It was a spontaneous, mutual and consensual kiss. I have a great relationship with all the players and we had very loving moments”.

“Jenni picked me up off the ground and we almost fell. He was the one who lifted me up. We hugged and I told him: ‘Forget the penalty you missed, you were great in this World Cup’ and he told me ‘you are crazy’ and I told him to give him a little kiss and he said ok”.

“This is a social murder, they are trying to kill me. As Spaniards we have to think about where we are going. False feminism does not seek justice, it does not seek the truth, it does not care about people. It’s time to say something. I was wrong and this was not the time to take this step. Is it serious for me to break up? I will not resign. I will fight until the end”.
