Francesco Bagnaia wins the MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix
Italian Ducati Lenovo motorcyclist Francesco Bagnaia won the sprint race at the Austrian Grand Prix, the tenth stage of the MotoGP World Championship.
The speed race, prior to the 10th test of the season, was held on the 4.3-kilometre Red Bull Track in the city of Spielberg, over 14 laps.
Bagnaia finished the race in first place just as it started and scored 12 points.
Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM team) crossed the finish line 2 seconds after Bagnaia, and Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac), 5 seconds behind the leader, took 3rd place.
Raising his score to 226, Bagnaia continued his lead in the drivers’ standings. Defending champion Bagnaia was followed by Martin with 180 points.
Before the Austrian Grand Prix, which will start tomorrow at 15.00 CET, the driver standings are as follows:
