Big surprise at Wimbledon

The matches of the 4th day were played in the main draw of the Australian Open, French Open (Roland Garros), United States Open and Wimbledon, one of the four most important tournaments of the tennis season, which is held in London, the capital of England.

Britain’s Liam Broady defeated Norwegian world number 4 Casper Ruud in the men’s singles 3-2 in sets 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 to reach the third round.

In the women’s singles, world number 3 Kazakh athlete Elena Rybakina defeated her French rival Alize Cornet 2-0 in sets 6-2 7-6 and advanced to the third round.

The fourth seed, the American athlete Jessica Pegula, in singles beat the Spanish Cristina Bucsa 2-0 with sets of 6-1 and 6-4 and left her mark in the third round.

World number 5 in women’s singles, French tennis player Caroline García defeated her Canadian rival Leylah Fernández 2-1 with sets of 3-6, 6-4 and 7-6 and reached the third round. (AA)
