Al-Ahli announces the transfer of Roberto Firmino

The Saudi Arabian team Al-Ahli has signed Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino, whose contract with Liverpool of England has expired.

Al-Ahli Club announced the signing of a 3-year contract with free agent Firmino.

The 31-year-old footballer, who plays for Figueirense in his country and Hoffenheim in Germany, signed for Liverpool in 2015. After winning titles in the Premier League, the Fed Cup, the League Cup, the Community Shield, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup once each, Firmino played 362 games for the “Reds” and scored 111 goals.

In Saudi Arabia, where large investments are made in football, Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy moved to Al-Ahli. In addition, important footballers such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves and Marcelo Brozovic, as well as coach Steven Gerrard, came to Saudi Arabia. (AA)
