Fernando Diniz becomes interim coach of the Brazil National Team, Carlo Ancelotti will take over in 2024
The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues, has officially announced that Fernando Diniz has been appointed interim coach of the Brazilian National Team for one year. Carlo Ancelotti will lead the team from June 2024. This information was confirmed by Rodrigues.
Diniz, the current Fluminense coach, will fulfill both roles. He will continue to lead the ‘Tricolor’ team and will lead Brazil when there are international matches. The agency released a video with statements by both the president and the new coach, but Diniz will be presented to the press on Wednesday at the federation building in Rio de Janeiro.
“Fernando Diniz will govern the fate of the Brazilian team for one year,” said Rodrigues. “I’m sure he will be as talented as ever.”

“I FOLLOWED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TEAM”
Coach Diniz said it was “an honor and an honor” to be selected:
“I trained some players when I was younger, like Bruno Guimarães and Antony. I have closely followed the growth of this entire generation. I was a competitor of some and admired many of them playing in Brazil and Europe”.
CARLO ANCELOTTI IN 2024
Ednaldo Rodrigues stated that Carlo Ancelotti will lead the Brazilian team from June 2024, but wanted to clarify that Diniz will be completely autonomous during this time:
“He is our coach and he will direct Fluminense and the national team during this time. For us, as coach of the Brazilian team, he is not an interim. He has a 12-month contract. He will make the transition so that Ancelotti comes to the Copa América ”.

ANCELOTTI COMES FOR THE AMERICA’S CUP
The next schedule of the Copa América will take place in the United States from June 20 to July 14, 2024.
The Champions League final will end on June 1 and La Liga on May 26, so Carlo Ancelotti will join the Brazilian team after the end of the European season. Carlo Ancelotti, who began his career as an assistant coach with the Italian National Team in 1992, will work as a national team coach for the first time in his 31-year adventure.
On the other hand, it remains a question mark whether Diniz will be in the technical team after Ancelotti’s takeover.
